Rough and Tumble

Before there was Rocky and Ringo, there was Charlie and Rocky. They were closely bonded yet far apart in age, and I knew their time together was going to be short. But they made the most of that time together, forming an incredible bond that kept Charlie alive a bit longer and made Rocky feel safe in his new pack after being abandoned and losing his leg.

Despite injury and old age, these two played hard and with so much heart. They were a source of inspiration for me to push myself harder and go after what I wanted with all of my might.

These photos are the last good photos I have of them in rough and tumble mode, and they were taken just ten days after Charlie’s surgery. Sadly, Charlie began to decline not long after and became too weak to play with Rocky. They are among my favorite photos of Charlie and Rocky and remind me why I take photos of my dogs every day.
